General Questions

How do I log in or register for LightSMS?

The www.lightsms.com system is designed for sending SMS messages and is directly linked with a user's Paysera account. To use LightSMS services, you must have a Paysera account.

Steps:

1. Go to the LightSMS homepage and click Start using
2. Click Login via Paysera in the opened window
3. You'll be redirected to the Paysera.com login page
4. If you don't have a Paysera account, fill in all required fields and click Open an account

No additional registration is required for users who already have a Paysera account.

Will SMS messages be charged by a mobile operator?

No. Messages sent via this system are not charged additionally by mobile operators. You pay only LightSMS for sending SMS messages, so you don't have to pay your mobile operator separately.

Why does my LightSMS balance show 0?

After your first login to LightSMS, your account needs to be linked to your Paysera account.

Steps to fix:

1. If you see Account balance 0, click "Link to another account here"
2. An approval confirmation for account selection will open
3. Choose the account you want to use for sending messages
4. Click Confirm approval and continue
5. You'll be redirected to the LightSMS homepage where you'll see the correct balance (e.g., 450.15 / 0 EUR)

How are settlements for the messages I have sent carried out?

The system does not require any account replenishments or conversion to points. LightSMS is directly linked to your Paysera account, and settlement is carried out automatically by reservation of funds.

How it works:

1. Initial reservation: LightSMS reserves 1 EUR from your Paysera account

2. Balance display: You'll see your balance as two numbers (e.g., 450.15 / 0 EUR)

   • First number: Your Paysera account balance (450.15 EUR)
   • Second number: Your LightSMS reserved balance (0 EUR)

3. Example flow:

   • You send your first SMS costing 0.0144 EUR
   • System reserves 1 EUR
   • After sending, your balance shows: 449.15 / 0.9856 EUR
   • The 1 EUR reservation is visible in your account

4. Automatic top-ups:

   • When your reserved amount runs out, the system automatically reserves additional funds
   • Reserved amounts accumulate: 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 50... EUR
   • You'll only see the final total reserved amount

When will the funds for sending SMS messages be deducted?

The funds reserved for SMS sending services are deducted from your Paysera account on the first day of each month at 00:30.

Where can I find the prices for sending messages?

Prices are available in two ways:

1. Website:

• Visit https://www.lightsms.com/#PRICING to see prices by country

2. LightSMS Platform:

• Log in to lightsms.com
• Click the world icon at the top-right corner
• Enter the desired country in the search field
• View prices by mobile operators for that country
• Click Download price to get a file with all prices

How do I create and send messages?

The window for creating messages consists of:

Text Field:

• Enter the message text
• One message = up to 160 characters
• If you exceed 160 characters, recipients receive the message in two parts

Number Field (Additional Numbers):

• Enter numbers in format: 370XXXXXXXX
• For multiple receivers, separate numbers with commas: 370XXXXXXX1,370XXXXXXX2

Base Selection:

• Select a base (group) of receivers
• If a base is selected AND additional numbers are entered, the message is sent to both
• You can select exemption groups to exclude from sending

What are the message options?

Message Type:

• Currently only SMS message type is available

Sender:

• To change sender's name, submit it to LightSMS administration through Lists > Senders
• Administration activates the sender's name after verification

SMS Template:

• Create templates for frequently repeated messages in Lists > Templates

Delivery Time:

• Immediately: Messages sent right away
• Later: Schedule for a specific date and time
• Smooth sending: Distribute messages over a time period
  • Example: 10 receivers over 10 minutes = 1 message per minute
  • Example: 2 receivers over 1 hour = first immediately, second in 1 hour
  • Useful for traffic management when you want receivers to contact you

Sending Name:

• Input field for generating statistics (visible only to sender)
• Examples: "Wednesday discounts", "Weekend promotion"

SMS Validity Time:

• Determines the period for retrying SMS messages with indefinite status

How do I create a custom sender name?

Sender's name is what appears on the receiver's phone screen. In some cases, it may be replaced with a phone number if mobile operators block alphabetic sender names.

Steps:

1. Go to Lists > Senders
2. Submit your desired sender name to LightSMS administration
3. Administration verifies and activates it according to the rules

Why wasn't my message delivered to the receiver?

If you see "Some SMS messages are currently pending", this means your messages are currently being processed by a system administrator and haven't been sent yet.

Reason: Messages are manually reviewed when inappropriate words or shortenings are detected by the system. LightSMS has a moderation functionality where message content is verified by a Paysera administrator before sending to receivers.

How do I integrate LightSMS API?

You can integrate using:

• SDK: Pre-built libraries available on GitHub (intistelecom)
• API Documentation: Access via LightSMS.com website by clicking Other > API in the left menu

What are SMS templates?

SMS templates are pre-prepared texts for convenient use when sending repeated messages.

How do I create an SMS template?

Steps:

1. Go to Lists > Templates in lightsms.com
2. Click Add template
3. Create a name for the template
4. Enter the template text

Available Variables:

Variable	Description

#middle-name#	Middle name
#last-name#	Last name
#birthdate#	Date of birth
#gender#	Gender
#note1#	Any custom input

Example Template:

Dear #first-name# #last-name#,

Thank you for using our services

Result: Each receiver gets an SMS with their own name and last name.

Note: If a receiver's last name is not in your data, the #last-name# part won't be displayed - they'll receive only their first name.

Usage: Select your saved template when sending a message in the SMS template dropdown.
